MLS Compliancy of Unbranded Media and Photo Sizing Configuration

MLS Compliancy of Unbranded Media and Photo Sizing Configuration

Welcome to Full Frame's support videos where we discuss details of our features. In this video we will go through MLS compliance of unbranded media and photo sizing configuration.

When you’re first uploading your photos you need to make sure that they are unbranded. This means that they cannot have any information regarding the selling agent or brokerage, unbranded property websites and any other embedded media that has been assigned to the unbranded website.

It’s important to note that all MLSs have individual options for minimum and maximum media sizes and aspect ratios. It’s quite often more advantageous to have us do the resizing for quality purposes,

It’s also important to know where the MLS in your area is syndicating the photos so that you know how big they will eventually be rendered on other websites, such as Zillow or Redfin for example.

To set the correct dimensions to be MLS compliant navigate to the Features section under Setup. Here we’ll see the MLS format card.

This card allows you to set the dimensions of the long and short side of an image that you would like the system to resize for MLS listings.

We call it the short and long side as opposed to width and height because we never change the orientation of your image and this ensures that all images stay in portrait or landscape orientation yet resizes to the same dimensions.

One important thing to consider when deciding the dimensions for the MLS format is that we prioritize aspect ratio above all else as to not distort your images or crop them.

This means that if a photo is uploaded at a 4:3 ratio but the dimensions in the MLS Format is 3:2 then the resizing function will keep the aspect ratio at 4:3 and try to get as close to the dimensions in these input fields as possible.

To change the dimensions simply input a new number into its respective field and a message will appear below when the mls size has been saved. You can also click away from the card to force a save.

If your client uses property websites to promote their listings, then you know that, depending upon where they’re posting, they may or may not be able to include their branding and contact information on their materials.

On the MLS you need to forgo branding. However, when posting to their own websites and social media they’ll definitely want to include contact information so potential clients know how to reach them. When using Full Frame they can do both depending on where they’re posting the property websites.

If you navigate to the Property Websites page you’ll see off to the left hand side the website links card.

Each link you’ll see labeled as branded, unbranded, no address, and video only websites.

The branded site is the complete site with agent and brokerage branding, the unbranded site is the same thing only with the agent and brokerage branding removed, the no address site is the same as the unbranded site but doesn’t have the address of the property stated anywhere, and the video only website only contains videos that are embedded in the site using YouTube or Vimeo.

To open the website on your browser simply click on the url for the site you would like to open. If you would like to copy the property site URL you can click on the clipboard icon next to the URL which will copy the URL to your computer’s clipboard, ready to paste wherever you would like to share it.

As you can see these simple functions on Full Frame will help you be MLS compliant when needed.
